Paál, László Zám, 1846 - 1879, Charenton

Share Paál, László 's profie

Festő. A 19. század egyik legismertebb magyar tájképfestője. Első mestere Böhm Pál volt. Művészeti tanulmányait a bécsi akadémián kezdte 1864-ben, mestere Zimmermann volt. Tanulmányúton Hollandiában járt, ahol a 17. századi mesterek műveit tanulmányozta. Barátja, Munkácsy Mihály hívására Düsseldorfba ment, majd Franciaországba költözött, Barbizonban telepedett le. A barbizoni művészeket követve ő is a természetet festette. Halála után hagyatékát elárverezték Párizsban. 1902-ben jutottak el képei Magyarországra, akkor találkozhatott képeivel a magyar közönség gyűjteményes kiállításon. Művei a Magyar Nemzeti Galéria gyűjteményében találhatók. Irodalom: Lázár Béla: Paál László, Bp., 1903; Farkas Zoltán: Paál László, Bp., 1954.
