Our Activities on a Social Scale

Primarily, our business on a social level means charity. The contemporary art auctions of the Hole in the Wall Camps, however, have gradually become remarkable events of Hungary’s domestic art trade.

Getting admitted to these auctions indicates high standing and recognition of the artists as it does guarantee for the bidders.

Since the inception of the Hole in the Wall Camps, it is Kieselbach Gallery that has been organizing and holding the Foundation’s charitable auctions. It was in 2005 with a view to commencing a tradition that the Hole in the Wall Camps held their first Contemporary Art Auction. That event has become a link in a chain of success stories to follow. By 2011 the Contemporary Art Auctions of the Hole in the Wall Camps had developed into Hungary’s most prestigious contemporary art auctions which are ably assisted by Kieselbach Gallery, by acb Gallery and likewise by a noted international jury. The person in charge of the annual auctions is Nóra Winkler.

To support the charitable cause, Hungary’s leading artists offer some of their works of art for auction. Accordingly, an average of 80 works a year go under hammer. The proceeds from the auctions go to treatment of children suffering from cancer, diabetes, chronic arthritis and haemophilia using adventure therapy in camps. The auctions take place at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest, where, as of the year 2011, Kieselbach Gallery’s auctions are held.
