Schubert, Ernő Bácsfa, 1903 - 1960, Budapest
His first master was Adolf Fényes, then he attended the Academy of Fine Arts under István Réti and István Csók from 1924. He was a member of the Munka Circle led by Lajos Kassák, KUT, UME and the Group of Socialist Artists. He was the head of the Academy of Applied Arts between 1948 and 1952, and remained a teacher there until his death. From the 1930s on he painted little, and mostly designed textiles and furniture. He arranged a carpet weaving workshop in Békésszentandrás.
