Rozsda, Endre Mohács, 1913 - 1999, Párizs
Took up his studies in the private school of Vuilmos Aba-Novák, and became a student at the École de Louvre of Paris in 1938. Here he got to know Picasso, Max Ernst, Giacomett and Vieira de Silva; while Françoise Gilot learned to paint from him. Among his compatriots living there he befriended Árpád Szenes and Hajdu Étienne. He made his first show in Paris in 1938; Andrl Breton wrote the introduction to his catalogue. He returned to Hungary in 1943. Solo exhibitions of his work opened in 1943 and 1948, and he participated in various exhibitions as a member of the European School. He travelled to Paris again in 1956, and lived here until his death.
