Pittner, Olivér Lupény, 1911 - 1971, Marosvásárhely
He belonged to the third generation of Nagybánya painters. His masters were János Krizsán and András Mikola, but Sándor Ziffer also had a high opinion of his work. He brought an original outlook and a new theme, the industrial landscape into the local Avantgarde circle in the 1930s The appeal of his pictures derives not only from their exquisite and sensitive colours but also from the irrational, strange unfamiliarness of the atmosphere they emanate despite the realistc landscape motifs. While the moulding of the forms is terse and constructivist, the atmosphere of his pictures is surrealistc.
