He completed his schooling in 1912 at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, under the master training of Ede Balló, Károly Ferenczy and Adolf Fényes. He worked in Nagybánya during the summers, and visited the Szolnok colony on a scholarship. From 1912 onwards he taught free-hand drawing at the Technical University.
