Szöri, József 1878 - 1914

After abandoning his law studies he attended Simon Hollósy's school from 1900 and worked in Nagybánya. He also studied under Ferenc Szablya-Frischauf and was a founding member of KÉVE. He spent five months in Paris on a study visit in 1909. Probably with Géza Bornemisza he attended Matisse's school too. On his return to Hungary, he lived and worked in Szeged but was a frequent visitor to the Vásárhely colony.
