Pleidell, János Hontfüzesgyarmat, 1915 - 2007

Festő, grafikus. 1935-42 között Prágában, Párizsban, majd Budapesten végezte tanulmányait. Mestere Aba Novák Vilmos volt. 1962-63-ban hosszabb időt töltött Olaszországban. 1936 óta kiállító művész. 1959-től gyakran dolgozott Mohácson. A Magyar Nemzeti Bank művészeti tanácsadója lett. 1949-59 között a Budapesti Műszaki Egyetem rajz tanszékének vezető tanára volt. 1961-63 között ösztöndíjasként Olaszországban tartózkodott. Kiállításokon Prágában 1938-ban, 1947-ben, 1955-ben, 1958-ban, 1965-ben, Budapesten 1962-ben, Firenzében 1962-ben, 1963-ban, Rómában 1963-ban. Több elismerésben részesült: 1962-ben a Magyar Köztársaság Érdemrend Tiszti Keresztjét kapta meg. Művei a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában és a braccianói Odescalchi Képtárban láthatók.
