Gerevich Tibor: Római magyar művészek. Magyar Művészet, 1931, 189–212.

Genthon István: Molnár C. Pál. Napkelet, 1934/3., 181–182.

Pogány Ö. Gábor: Molnár C Pál. Corvina, Budapest, 1988.

A boldog művész képeskönyve. Molnár-C. Pál (1894–1981). Szerk.: Csillag Pálné Éva, Kossuth, Budapest, 1997.

A romantikus tekintetű, zöld kalapos fiatal római leány Molnár C. Pál art deco újságrajzainak modern szépségeit idézi. A figura naiv rajzolata a korai reneszánsz képek ártatlan báját idézi.

A Molnár C. Pál által választott itáliai reneszánsz út vált a 20-as évek végétől a kívánatos fősodorrá. A Római Iskola spiritus rectora, Gerevich Tibor visszaigazolva látta koncepcióját a klasszikusok felé forduló fiatal tehetségek művészetében. Ahogy 1931-es cikkében írta: „ezek a művészifjak nem a Cinquecento vagy a barokk fényes alakjaiban, hanem a középkor és a korai reneszánsz úttörő mestereiben keresték és találták meg törekvéseik segítőit, művészi eszközeik történeti példaképeit. Giotto és Piero della Francesca segített kirobbantani Aba-Novák római új stíljét, a sienaiak és Fra Angelico ihlették meg Molnár C. Pál szenzibilis új egyházi festészetét.” Ugyanezt fogalmazta meg Gerevich tanítványa, Genthon István, aki a Napkelet hasábjain elemezte Molnár C. Pál itáliai kapcsolatait: „Az új magyar festők egyik legnépszerűbbike, Molnár C. Pál […] termékeny alkotó, könnyen, szinte vidáman fest, s a derűs, játékos életöröm valóban kicseng valamennyi alkotásából. A most vizsgált korai reneszánsz bájú portré a Római Iskola időszaka hőskorának elsőrangú remeke.
