Festő, grafikus. Művészeti tanulmányait Bécsben és Párizsban végezte. Munkácsy Mihály mellett is dolgozott. 1889-ben Párizsban bronzéremmel jutalmazták. A Képzőművészeti Főiskola tanára lett 1904-től. A nagybányai művésztelepen dolgozott 1918-ban. 1921-32 között a kecskeméti művésztelep vezetője volt. Művei a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában, a Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeumban és vidéki múzeumokban találhatók.
