Gy. Molnár, István Kunhegyes, 1933 - 2010
Painter, graphic artist. Studied at the College of Fine Arts in Budapest. His teachers were Aurél Bernáth,
Gyula Papp, Béla Bán, Géza Fónyi. He was a member of the board of the Young Artists' Studio Association.
Member of the Szinyei Society. Since 1970, he has lived in the new artists' colony in Szentendre. He has worked several times
at the artists' colonies in Villány and Nagyatád. He started out as a painter, but in the early 1960s
he began to work with graphics. He started painting again in the mid-1960s. He has been exhibiting his work since 1960.
He has presented his work at numerous domestic and international exhibitions. He had a solo exhibition
at the Szentendre Gallery in 1993. He participated in group exhibitions at the Ernst Museum (1963), the Hungarian National Gallery (1968, 1971, 1972, 1976,
1979, 1991), the Art Hall (1971, 1988), the Szentendre Exhibitions
(Szentendre Gallery, (Szentendre Picture Gallery,
from 1979). Awards: Studio Award (1966), 3rd prize at the Pest County Exhibition (1970). His works can be found in Hungarian public collections
including the Hungarian National Gallery and the Ferenczy Museum in Szentendre.
