Festő. Művészeti tanulmányait Münchenben és Bécsben folytatta. Budapesten telepedett le. 1899-1902 között Firenzében működött. Jókai Mór nevelt lányát vette feleségül, együtt élt a nagy íróval egy Bajza utcai palotában, mely a kor neves személyiségeinek kedvelt találkozóhelyévé vált. Az 1870-es évektől szerepelt kiállításokon. 1892-1894 között készítette több neves festő közreműködésével a Magyarok bejövetele című körképét a milleniumi kiállításra. Kilenc faliképet festett az Operaház előcsarnokába. Több műve található a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában. Körképét az ópusztaszeri Nemzeti Parkban állították ki.
