Share Beöthy, István 's profie

Szobrász, festő, művészeti író. Tanulmányait a budapesti Képzőművészeti Főiskola szobrász szakán kezdte, ahonnan a művészetről vallott felfogása miatt eltanácsolták. A főiskolát festő szakon végezte el Vaszary János tanítványaként. 1926-tól Párizsban működött. Több művészeti csoportot alapított az 1930-as években. 1946-tól a párizsi Salon des Realités Nouvelles egyik alapítója és meghatározó személyisége. Több művészeti folyóirat szerkesztéséáben vett részt, rendszeresen publikált művészet elméleti írásokat. 1928-tól mutatta be egyéni kiállításokon műveit Párizsban és több európai nagyvárosban. A legrangosabb párizsi csoportos kiállítások mellett bemutatkozott 1923-ban Budapesten az Ernst Múzeumban, 1928-ban és 1948-ban a Nemzeti Szalonban, 1970-ben a Műcsarnokban. Életmű kiállítást rendeztek alkotásaiból 1983-ban Budapesten és Pécsett. Művei megtalálhatók a legrangosabb modern művészeti gyűjteményekben, hazánkban a pécsi múzeumban.
