A kolozsvári születésű Gáll Ferenc az 1930-as években jutott ki Párizsba, és ott örökítette meg a fauve-ok kedvenc öreg hídját, a Pont Saint-Michelt. A Szajnának a nagy N betűs kőhídját számos modern párizsi művész megfestette Matisse-tól Albert Marquet-ig, de a magyarok számára leginkább Tihanyi Lajos ikonikus magyar vad képéről ismerős.
