A Magyarországról – Kondor Béla nemzedékével – induló Kis János (1932–2007) művészete Franciaországban teljesedett ki. Következetes, analizáló, nonfiguratív festészete vékony színes vonalakból és geometrikus idomokból épül fel. A tágas, szellős, világos alapon titkos matematikai rend szerint helyezkednek el a kicsiny formák. Körcikkelyek, cakkos téglalapok, kivágott körök és szögletes pálcikák. Mintha ollóval kimetszett kollázselemek lennének, de a motívumok nem maszkolva, hanem selymes ecsettel, szabad kézzel körülfestve kerültek fel a felületre. Egy ismeretlen, izgalmas életmű bemutatkozása a hazai műtárgypiacon.
