Study

Art deco kettős

Schönberger Armand az art decóban testet öltő '20-as évekbeli, klasszicizáló modernség egyik legjobb magyar képviselője. Most vizsgált figurális kompozícióját egy – Aristide Maillol lebegő-billenő női bronzszobrait idéző – alabástromfehér akt uralja. De a hagyományos beállítást a '20-as évek vampjaira jellemző élénk smink és kihívó, rövid vörös frizura teszi összetéveszthetetlenül korszerűvé. A fehér akt körül katedrálisablakhoz illő formákra tördelve tűnik fel a háttér és egy másik figura. A jobb oldali nőalak szintén divatos bubifrizurát visel, de ő feketét, sötét macskaszemeit pedig a kezében tartott könyvre szegezi. Schönberger jó érzékkel építi fel az ellentétek kettősét: vörös és fekete, meztelen és felöltöztetett, passzív és aktív, érzéki és intellektuális.

Platón útján

Mintha Tiziano Égi és földi szerelem (1515 k.) című klasszikusa születne újjá, amelyen a velencei mester egy római szarkofág szélére ültette a gazdag ruházatú nemes hölgyet és az isteni meztelen aktot. Mivel a cím (Amor Sacro e Amor Profano) csak két évszázaddal későbbről ismert, talán sosem tudjuk meg, Tiziano mit akart pontosan megfesteni, talán egy Velence városát ábrázoló allegóriát. A neoplatonista értelmezés mégis hozzátapadt a képhez, miszerint az elvont égi és a reális földi princípium kettőse ölt rajta testet, vagy – a szerelem nyelvére lefordítva – a testi vágy és a lelki vonzalom.

Tizianótól Molnár Ferencig

Aki azt hinné, hogy Tiziano klasszikusa nem rezgett együtt a szédült jazz korszak modernségével, annak érdemes megnéznie Molnár Ferenc kétféle szerelemről szóló, a felületes és rohanó kortárs világot vádoló színdarabját. Az Égi és földi szerelem 1922-es bemutatója után a Budapesti Hírlap kritikusa találóan emlegette fel a tizianói enigmát: „Olvastam róla szertelen magasztalásokat és ízléstelen, cinikus gúnyolódást. De ma sem tudom, hogy aki még nem látta, tudja-e ezekből, mi a darab telke. Sőt aki látta is, azt hiszem, épp oly kevéssé tudja, mi benne a földi és mi az égi szerelem, mint a hogy a műkritikusok háromszáz év óta nem tudtak eldönteni, hogy Tizián híres képében, melyik az égi szerelem és melyik a földi: a meztelen női alak-e, vagy a takart testű.” (Budapesti Hírlap, 1922. november 5.)
