Diana (görög megfelelője Artemisz) a vadászat szűzies istennője, aki az erdőket és mezőket járja íjával a kezében. Míg ikertestvére, Apolló az aranyló napot testesíti meg, Diana a nőiesség jelképe, ezért társultak hozzá olyan szimbólumok, mint a holdsarló vagy az ezüst.
