His grandfather Alajos Krisztiáni is a painter from Cegléd. In 1925 he graduated from the real school in Debrecen. Between 1925 and 1927, he was a poster-painter, a worker, a shop window designer In Vienna, where he met the photography. In 1927 he came home and became a trader in his own shop, continuing his family traditions. Besides he was engaged in artistic photography. His antique, nationally romantic pictures, surrealistic montages made him known both at home and abroad. His montages and photos are characterized by a strong pathos, an elevated emotional approach. Today's viewer sometimes feels rightly sentimental, well-trained, but his images prove his great technical knowledge, great compositional sense, and professional knowledge of photography technology. He became the organizer of the photo life of Debrecen and the county, and since 1931 he was the president of the Debrecen Photo Club. Member of Focus Photo Salon (Amsterdam), correspondent of Cercle Royal et Etudes Photo et Scientifique di Anwers. In total, he attended 400 international exhibitions with 150 medals and diplomas. Between 1933 and 1935 he was the responsible editor of the Photo-Amateur titled page. In 1941 he took a master's exam in professional photography. He opened his own photo studio and photo shop in Debrecen. In 1944 his home and studio was bombarded, almost everything was destroyed. After the war he moved to Brazil, becoming a technical director and teacher at Sociedade Fluminense de Fotografia in Niteró. Photo editor of Fotoarte between 1958 and 1971. Towards the end of his life, the painting and writing were more attractive for him . His sons, Egmann Egmann and Jr. Ferenc Aszmann are also a photographer, and they became official photographer of the President of the Republic of Brazil. His works in public collections: the Hungarian Museum of Photography, Déri Museum, Debrecen and the family property.
