The Kieselbach Gallery cordially invites you to the presentation of the book Budapest Through the Eyes of Painters and the accompanying exhibition.
Following the highly successful exhibitions Painters\, Muses\, Lovers\, The Weapon of Seduction\, and Found Paintings\, the Kieselbach Gallery once again presents a grand-scale exhibition dedicated to Budapest-themed paintings from the past 150 years. Curated by Péter Molnos\, the exhibition brings together nearly 100 paintings with a combined value exceeding HUF 3 billion\, selected from prestigious Hungarian private collections as well as the holdings of the Hungarian National Gallery and the Kiscelli Museum.
The exhibition features masterpieces by renowned artists including Rudolf von Alt\, Miklós Barabás\, János Vaszary\, Ödön Márffy\, Vilmos Perlrott-Csaba\, Lajos Tihanyi\, and János Kmetty. Museum-quality works representing the Hungarian Fauves\, the avant-garde\, and Art Deco movements will also be on display\, alongside outstanding artists associated with the Nagybánya artists’ colony\, the Roman School\, and the École de Paris. A dedicated gallery room will showcase popular Budapest-themed works by Béla Kontuly\, János Vaszary\, István Mácsai\, and Béla Czene.
