After spending a short period at the Pattern Drawing School in 1900, he moved to Rome in 1902 and Florence in 1903, where he then enrolled at the Academy. He travelled to Paris in 1906. On the invitation of writers he went to Nagyvárad after a tour of northern Italy in 1908. At his exhibition he met Endre Ady and Gyula Juhász, whom he later befriended. His thematic field, a world of his own creation called Na'Conxypan which appeared both in his writings and pictures came into being around then. In 1913 visited Padua and lived for a year from the spring of 1914 in Venice. His contact with the Activists around 1918 was only of personal significance, it left no mark upon his creative work. He had a representative show of his work in 1922, but by then the mental illness that had attacked him as a result of the tension and fears of the World War did not permit him even passing social contacts.
