Treasures on the Ecseri Flee Market - Part two
| I have discovered a photo album of the First World War in the Ecseri Flee Market, which is supposed to be prepared by László Vitályos, a military engineer who was later appointed captain. The album offers a glimpse of the campaign in Transylvania, Slovakia, Ukraine and in Montenegro. |
There are more than 180 photos depicting landscapes of Brasov, Făgăraş, Predeal, Iwangorod, Kissel, Prużany, Kattaro, Castelnuovo, Tyrana and Scutari, civilians and soldiers from Hungary, Rumania, Slovakia, Russia, and Montenegro, catching snapshots of bloody battles and quiet weekdays. We can witness László Mednyánszky playing chess in his quarters in Gorodiste, King Karl of Austria on the streets of Brasov, and Archduke Friedrich in Predeal. The following compilation shows all the photos appearing in the album.
