Sass Brunner, Ferenc Pécs, 1882 - 1963, Budapest

His family name was originally Brunner, but he signed his works as Ferenc Sass, or used the monogram SF. He studied under Károly Ferenczy and Simon Hollósy, with a marked influence coming from the latter. He opened a painting school in Nagykanizsa in 1908. This is where he met his future wife, Erzsébet Farkas, who was also an artist. He had an exhibition at the Artists House in 1910, and showed his work in the National Salon on numerous occasions.
